NEET – Exam Pattern
All questions in the NEET exam will be MCQ type having 4 options in which 1 option is supposed to be correct. 4 marks will be rewarded for each correct option while 1 mark will be deducted for one wrong answer.
In total 200 MCQs will be asked but the candidate needs to attempt only 180 questions. In Section A of all subjects (i.e., Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology), 35 questions will be asked and the candidate has to answer all the questions. Whereas in Section B, 15 questions will be asked and only 10 questions need to be answered.
Hence, 45 out of 50 questions need to be attempted from each subject (Section A + Section B). With 4 marks for each correct answer being awarded, the total marks for each subject become (45*4) = 180. Therefore, for 4 subjects carrying 180 marks the total marks of the NEET exam become (180*4) = 720.
